First National Bank has been operating in downtown Paragould, Arkansas, since 1899. Their continuous growth and expansion have led to the significant renovation of their historic downtown headquarters.

“First National Bank was born here in downtown Paragould 134 years ago. Since then, we’ve grown from here and are still running a much larger, but still locally owned, bank right here in our hometown,” said First National Bank Chairman Will Brewer. “This investment is about more than just putting our name on a building; it’s about giving back to our home.”

The project includes upgrading their structural facilities, with a complete renovation of the existing building, and a major addition to the drive-through and parking area. The bank has acquired the entire block, a key element of their expansion.

Emerson Street will be permanently closed and transformed into a parking area for both the bank and the public. This new parking facility will feature an innovative low-grade storm drainage system to enhance water flow in the surrounding area. The exterior renovation of the existing block will enhance the downtown’s aesthetic appeal. Then the interior remodel features new wood ceilings and more contemporary elements than the previous structure.

The project is expected to take approximately 16-18 months. During this period, the bank must remain fully operational. To achieve this, Ramsons collaborated with the bank to create a detailed schedule, specifying when certain areas need to be cleared. Danny McDaniel, President and Co-Founder of Ramsons, shared that his family began working for the Brewers in 1954.

“We have a long-standing, comparable relationship with the Brewers and have completed numerous projects for them in Jonesboro, Paragould, and Corning,” McDaniel said.

The renovation of First National Bank’s historic downtown office symbolizes their deep-rooted connection to the community and their forward-looking vision. This project not only modernizes the bank’s facilities but also enhances the downtown area’s appeal and functionality. With a strong partnership between First National Bank and Ramsons, the project is progressing smoothly and ahead of schedule.
